Meet Ceri,
the painter.

Hi, I’m Ceri, and I live in a village in Wiltshire with my husband, our teenagers, and Twister the greyhound, who spends most of his day perfecting the art of doing absolutely nothing.

My painting journey started after losing my cat, Yam, and our beloved greyhound, Meg. Painting their portraits helped me through my grief and kept their memories alive. What began as a way to remember them soon became an obsession. It’s a much healthier obsession than collecting greyhounds… according to my husband!

I love painting pets because every animal has its own personality. Whether it’s a cheeky grin, a suspicious side-eye, a wonky ear, or fur that seems determined to point in every possible direction, I enjoy capturing all the little details that make them unique. I often find myself studying every lump, bump, whisker, and hair until I feel like I know the pet almost as well as their owner does.

My biggest artistic influences are the animals themselves. They don’t care about artistic rules, they just unapologetically be themselves. I’m inspired by the character, loyalty, mischief, and unconditional love that pets bring to our lives.

My aim is to create portraits that make people smile, laugh, and perhaps shed the occasional happy tear. After all, our pets may steal our beds, our sofas, and sometimes our sandwiches, but they also steal our hearts.
